OUR CORE COMMITMENTS
THE ESSENTIAL 6 G’S
A Great Commitment to the Great Commission and the Great Commandment = A Great Life, and a Great Church.
The 6G’s are Core Commitments the Bible teaches us, expressing HOW, we become committed followers of Jesus. As we resolve to make progressive and balanced commitments to live by each of these 6 G’s, we will fulfill our vision, discovering Closeness with God, Lives Changing and a Community Transforming.
This is our “Method” as United Methodists and our Heart as Christ Followers.
- GLORIFY GOD – Committed Followers of Jesus WORSHIP GOD REGULARLY

Worshipping God with others consistently is the most important action we take on this earth. The act of surrender to God gives us perspective, wisdom, courage, inspiration and strength as our lives are put in a right relationship with a Holy God.
ACTION STEP #1: I will WORSHIP God with others every Sunday except when I am sick or it is unpreventable.
My actions will regularly honor God and give God glory.
- GRACE – Committed Followers of Jesus ARE WITNESSES of God’s grace, love, and hope of salvation.

Lost people matter to God and us and can receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Grace is God’s unmerited gift of inviting us into a relationship with him through Jesus. Our lives must become expressions of God's amazing grace to our world.
ACTION STEP #2: I will PRAY for those who don’t know Jesus and, as the Spirit of God gives me the opportunity, I will SHARE my story of the love and hope I have found through my relationship with Jesus.
- GROWTH – Committed Followers of Jesus HAVE A PERSONAL PLAN TO GROW to be like Jesus.

God accepts us as we are, but expects us to change and become more than we are. God’s Spirit living in us gives us the power to change. Growth requires personal commitments to vital spiritual habits of Bible Reading, Prayer & these 6G’s.
ACTION STEP #3: I will map out my PLAN TO GROW (include when, where, and how you will do this. Ask others to help you.)
- GROUPS – Committed Followers of Jesus GROUP TOGETHER to lean on and learn from each other

Life change happens best in small groups. This is where we draw close to God as we lean on and learn from each other through studying God’s Word and praying together.
ACTION STEP #4: I will get CONNECTED WITH A SMALL GROUP and get a prayer partner (someone to pray with regularly).
- GIFTS – Committed Followers of Jesus SPEND TIME SERVING to change lives, and transform communities

Each of us is uniquely gifted. God wants us to discover and use our gifts with excellence as we serve God through his church. When we serve others with our time & talents, we serve God. We are blessed to be a blessing.
ACTION STEP #5: I will discover and use my spiritual gifts to SERVE God in some way through this church.
- GENEROSITY – Committed Followers of Jesus PROVIDE FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR GOD’S KINGDOM

Since God provided everything we have, in return, God wants us to joyfully and generously honor Him by giving back at least 10% of what God gave us, in order to fund God’s work. This is called tithing. Giving to God’s work on earth is a clear measure of our trust in God.
ACTION STEP #6: I will be GENEROUS by putting God first with my financial resources and practice Planned, Prioritized Giving (tithe-10%).
